What Is Peace In Times of War?

Plainsong, inspired by a song from The Cure in their music album Disintegration, gives voice back to humanity’s feelings of experiencing generations of false peace. What is peace when the world as we know it is falling apart?

What is the true meaning and importance of peace in this world when it is nothing more than an illusion, and what is reflected in the world is the opposite of it - fear, confusion, and war? Over the years prominent leaders all over the globe have been uniting in front of the cameras and behind, promoting the agenda of peace. Yet peering through the cameras one’s mind can see various forms of foul play, and if you listen long enough behind the scenes your heart can hear talks of deception that your soul cannot ignore. A famous musician once said, “"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." Are humanity’s leaders really after peace, or have they always been after power, one generation after another? Is power in the wrong hands, could this be the reason why the world has not yet known peace?

Every true artist and musician throughout history was and is aware of this conflict, inside and out. Yet how sensible are we of this powerful responsibility that we have in our hands, of bringing justice to crimes against humanity and restoring the reality that humanity and our earth really deeply deserve? Are we utilizing the only true power we have left to still allow this old system to continue to oppress and degrade humanity for the satisfaction of an elite, at the expense of the masses?

The power that art and music hold is a constant reminder for humanity of our struggles as human beings. At the same time, it also reminds us of the potential gift that we each still equally have in our hands and in our voices, that when all together delivered and expressed in genuine love and concern for the good of all and reverence for our earth, can be the force that will lead this world to finally realize true peace this time around in history. We are the world. We are the children.

When will the power of love overcome the love of power? When will the world know peace?

Jeremiah 31:33-34
